Android 9 will have 4.4 Kernel. AEX already uses it. Still a bit bugged, but very promising.
In terms performance my favourite ROM so far was RR or AEX
But in terms of battery life in my opinion still MIUI 9 is the best and even MIUI 10 is better than AEX or RR ROMs , especially standby times. In MiUI ROMs I guess there is very aggressive background data control which makes standby battery life very good. But as a minus notification problems happen constantly in MIUI ROMs

I wish there would be a ROM with standby times like MIUI, performance like RR and supports latest Gcam with OIS.. I guess I'm asking too much ))

Clean-flashed this ROM with kernel. Gave me a blue-LED crash each time.

clean flash means:

- format system, data, dalvik, cache
- flash factory2vendor.zip
- reboot to recovery again
- flash RR 6.2.1 latest
- flash kernel Nameless V19 for Z2 Pro (take care, there is a Nameless kernel for Z2 plus as well)

Boot and enjoy.

no, 4.4 Kernel is not good. You need a 4.4 compatible rom for this. At the moment it is only AEX 6 which is based on Android 9. Will be RR 7 as well in future.

So for RR 6.2.1 please flash nameless kernel V19. As I wrote.

Tried this several times. On two phones. Overheating and blue-LED crash in all cases.

I'll stick to the AEX Oreo Beta until Davide fixes Pie.

that is weird as I use it here with four Z2 Pro in family. Did you come from ZUI 3.5 before?

used nameless v19? V20 is not working for RR 6.2.1
Did RR 6.2.1 booted without nameless kernel?
Without kernel, it boots and doesn't crash or overheat.

In any case, I decided to go back to the good ol' 31/12 beta release of AEX. It lacks a few things, customisation-wise, but it's given me the best raw functionality of any custom ROM so far. GCam works near-perfectly once OSSTWRP is installed; and the play-on-connect feature on my music app (Rocket Player) works flawlessly. I think the official Oreo ROMs (on all phones) implemented something that ruined that basic function. Hopefully, the upcoming Pie updates will fix that, along with reactivating OIS functionality for the device.

Guys, wifi problem is back. My connection barely comes close to 10 Mbitps but I have 60 Mbitps. When I did fresh install of RR 6.2.1 on top of fresh ZUI 3.5.xxx it worked like a charm (except LTE which got solved). It looks like it (Wi-Fi issue) gets worse through the time or it's caused by some application or something... Unfortunately I haven't made a backup of fresh install.

Any idea?

EDIT: ok that is strange...I found out that Wi-Fi issue is only with BT on. Once I turn off BT, Wi-Fi starts working fine. It's like some interference or something...it's definitely BT vs Wi-Fi - tested 20+ times
