Hi there,

I want to share the available RadioModems and baseband collection with you.

All credits to @crisps

-----------------------------------------------------------------
For all lazy readers that just want to get a good baseband:
After several tests from my side and verifying with other users here is my SUGGESTED BASEBAND for all Roms:

RadioModem Full Version ZUI 4.0.247 ST:
https://mega.nz/#!BYRiwYyA!1KU2-2Ovq2yB9RvaXCv95EFt_2aGNaziQ8Qka7R0ab4

You may use others as well. This is the most stable yet with less compatibility problems. Feel free to take another version. It is a suggestion only.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I will update this thread when receiving new RadioModems/basebands.

Take care, all are to be used at your own risk, neither me or @crisps will be responsible for any damage.

I tested all without any problems.

No wipes necessary after flashing.
Flash with twrp.
I used twrp 3.2.1.0 treble edition.

No difference in basband version shown in system so don't get confused. In system you will always see the same baseband version. This is normal even if there are changes made between the versions according to changelogs of ZUI updates. There are even more changes in RadioModem (WiFi, Bluetoooth etc.). But changelogs from ZUK are not really detailled ;)

-------------------------------

TroubleShooting:

Problem: After reboot your phone requires your usual pin on lock screen. But even when typing correct pin it will switch back to lock screen.

Solution: Reboot to twrp.
In twrp start file explorer (find it under advanced)
In folder data/system delete all files beginning with "locksetting". Usually one to three files.
Reboot. After reboot no pin is necessary, you need to re-setup again.

Problem: I get no LTE / 4G signal anymore. HELP!

Solution: Thanks to @vickdu31 and @juyer there is the following mini guide:

- Download 3.5 latest baseband from this post
- flash it with twrp.
- Extract .zip of baseband
- Reboot to fastboot

fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash modem NON-HLOS.bin (this file is from .zip baseband)
fastboot -i 0x2b4c erase modemst1
fastboot -i 0x2b4c erase modemst2
fastboot -i 0x2b4c reboot

LTE working instantly.

-------------------------------

Enjoy mates :)

  1. does flashing the baseband re-lock the bootloader?
  2. is there *any* way of finding the current baseband version on the phone ?

Also no wipe necessary.

so, if i don't know the current baseband, the safest thing to do is:
first flash full version 2.5.435,
then flash incremental update 2.5.435 to 2.5.462,
and then 3.1.185 ?

For baseband look into:
Settings >about phone

You can go this way

You can just flash the basebands. Use full version and then incremenral updates.

These radiomodem versions are just for testing purpose. If you dont encounter problems just dont flash. If you are troubling with 4G, bluetooth, wifi etc you may flash to test if it helps.

I a little lost here, I have installed aex 5 latest build, also applied the lightpatch from xda, would it be ok to get this installed ? Secondly would I notice any changes in the network connectivity ?

i'm curious, how do you know if there is or isn't Galileo-gps support ?
it's a hope from me. after qualcom anounced software updates for the snapdragon 820 cpu i hoped there is a device wich has this update and can be used for the z2 pro, too. and i hope this update is in the baseband. but i don't know.

how do you know that there is no galileo support?
i installed "GPS Test" from the playstore. With that ap you can check wich gps-satellite will be received from your smartphone. i never saw any galileo satellite with this app on this phone.

I checked the technical references of z2 Pro and almost all websites are clear that Galileo is not supported.
yes, thats right. officially it isn't supported.
technical it is only the software/firmware wich doesn't have galileo support. but the hardware does.
it's "only" a software/firmware update wich is needed for the snapdragon 820.
