My ZUK 2 Pro with 2.5.xxx was crashing 2 or 4 times a day, asking me for SIM PIN code with no reason just before a freeze or crash (blue light)...

After some tries, I've managed to stop this.

The solution seems simple : I now use fingerprint (with PIN code as 2nd method).

I do not use anymore SIM PIN code and schema method.

    Hope it can help others.

    Hi guys,
Just to let you know that I continue to have random crashs.
So I decide to wipe datas (restore to default 2.5.435).
Seems good but I'll let you know.

    Three things :
    - there are options for notifications in parameters that I didn't see before. When used with Safecenter autostart whitelist, this has improved the number of notifications I get
    - I upgrade chinese apps in the Zuk chinese App Center, in order to get better stability globaly
    - I will stay in english for a while, testing the stability of my Zuk without morelocale 2 (could be a source of instability).

Note : Morelocale 2 was authorised in SafeCenter autostart and my local fr langage was persistent after reboot.

Will let you know, but as for now, I have no more blue led crash of death...

    First day without any crash

    So cool...

Edit : 2nd day without crash... My ZUK Z2 Pro seems now rock solid. Some web sites (like www.lepoint.fr) were not good at all for him before. This is old story now. Great !

On the 3rd day, I've hade two crashes. During facebook or google browsing, the 4G went off and the phone crashed with a blue led...

    Seems a 2.5.435 bug... ?

Will try maybe to reinit via Qfil a v1.9 stock ROM and do an OTA update to 2.5.435 again ...

Before that try to uninstall last installed apps.
I have one z2 plus here that had the same issue.
Other launcher and some apps less solved it.

I've not installed anything. I've uninstalled morelocale 2. And launched the ZUK chinese store lately. That's all.

I've uninstall the chinese store and 2 other chinese apps (user experience, etc.) but there was another crash (3 today...)

What launcher do you use ?

Maybe then qfil to 1.9 will be best solution.

I use SquareLauncher2, loving the simplicity. I use the phone for work purpose mainly.

How did you manage to put Morelocale 2 on the SafeCenter autostart?
On mine Morelocale 2 is not selcetable.

Ok first crash (4G crash and then blue led of death)... So lnstalling another launcher doesn't solve the stability problem... It seems linked to 4G support.

Edit : 2nd crash during phone sleep, battery charging -> blue led, phone getting hot (cpu at 100% I presume)... I uninstall Nova launcher and will do a QFil reinit from 1.9...

Don't know, sorry... but the french provided by morelocale 2 was persistent on my phone.

So to continue the stabilization process of my Z2pro :
    1) I flash 1.9.104ST via QFIL
    2) OTA update to 2.3.044ST
    3) OTA update to 2.5.335ST
    4) OTA update to 2.5.435ST

Yes, they provide a 3 x OTA experience, lol

I started having the same issue since a couple of days. No new apps installed and I am already on 435 with OTA from 1.9. I think it's related to 4G somehow, it never happened before but only start after moving to a different location for vacations.

Got my first crash with this fresh install (2.5.435 OTA from 1.9). So I think too there are bugs with radio (4G and Wifi) since I got mine after a screen sleep on a domestic Wifi network.

    Waiting for a ZUI update...

    Try AEX.
    Install twrp 3.1.0.0
    Delete System, data, dalvik, cache
    Install AEX then.
    Add Gapps
    Enjoy non-crashing AEX :)

Yep, I will certainly try custom ROMs...

It's better after a data wipe.
(I've reinstalled the google apps via the Zuk app center.)

There are always strange signs of an imminent crash, the screen begins to show strange stripes, the phone becomes slow and after a moment everything hang. I 've tried to stop animations (dev options) and automatic rotation, but the last crash I had flip my screen up and down, lol

Last thing I'm trying is to "Force GPU rendering" (could be less buggy using the GPU) and to "Show CPU usage" in order to identify a faulty process... (Android is something like a mini linux kernel...)

    EDIT :
    - The show CPU usage didn't report 100% values but <10% values
    - I had a very long crash with "Force GPU rendering" that finish without blue led... lol. My screen was at a time turned down and still running (unbelievable).

I'm fed up with the ZUK ROM and will try Custom ROM from now...

I've unlocked my bootloader and I've installed twrp 3.1.

I've done a default twrp wipe (data, davlink, etc.) and the ZUI 2.5.435 is more stable now... It's confusing...

Will try some custom ROM in the next days...
